It all started six months ago with a throwaway comment made by my brother. Shortly afterward I started spewing and The Verbal Spew Review was born. I had no clear idea of what I wanted this blog to be and no clue what I was going to do with it but here it is six months later, my brain’s little baby, doing its thing. I still don’t know exactly what that thing is precisely, but it’s doing it and I like it.

Six months isn’t a long time in the grand scheme of things. I follow blogs that have been established for years, and in comparison to those behemoths The Spew is merely a drop in the ocean of blogdom. Mi padre estaba ingresado en un hospital psiquiátrico desde hacía años. No podía verlo sin la presencia de seguridad en la habitación. Al principio siempre me reconocía pero conforme pasaban los minutos su actitud se volvía impredecible. Había ratos que me confundía con otra persona, otros me insultaba e incluso me amenazaba de muerte. Sentía miedo y a la vez lástima.

Siempre fue un buen padre; le tenía muchísimo cariño aunque nunca fue capaz de decirme un simple “te quiero”. Fui a verlo, como cada día, a las seis de la tarde. Un celador me guió hasta una habitación libre de objetos, tan solo una mesa y un par de sillas componían aquel habitáculo. Dos tipos de seguridad acompañaban a mi padre que se resistía a que lo llevaran.
