When I first received my nomination/award for being a VERSATILE BLOGGER, I didn’t yet realize that the award was not much more than an attempt to propagate blogs — i.e. to gain more audience for all sorts of blogs and bloggers, both of WordPress and Blogger and… I’m sorry, the others do not wish to come to mind.
Soon after starting the VBA blog, I realized that CHAIN LETTER AWARDS are almost a dime a dozen.
I’ve attempted, via this blog, to set the record straight.
The Versatile Blogger Award is whatever we make it. The VBA can disintegrate into nothing more than a “I like you, do you like me?” award. Or, we can endeavor to choose our nominees with greater care… And, I’ve discovered that most of the time, the results are that worthy blogs and bloggers are indeed awarded the VBA!
Think about it! The VBA is whatever you want it to be!

I had the same response to chain letter blog awards till I was at the receiving end of this particular one, the VBA. Something that I saw from the chain as it reached me was that it was not necessarily to recognize versatile and quality blogs/bloggers, but more to drive traffic and links to friends and family. I believe in doing what I can to change things, and so, I have tried to make my post for the award and the blogs/bloggers I passed it on to really live up to the description and objective of the award. So what if it is a chain letter award, I can still use it to do something that will improve the lives of all who are touched by it, can’t I?

I like this award and was happy to have blogging friends thinking about me with their nomination.
Looking through the blogs that display the award, I realized they all fit the profile. A good award it is!
And yes, it is a way of linking, but such a NICE way!
