I love this quote, because it describes exactly what it is that I am working towards. I know that there are many obstacles in my life that I simply cannot change, so instead, I'm working to change how I get around them. It sounds simple enough, but sometimes it takes a tremendous amount of effort to react to situations the I want to rather than the way I'm used to reacting to them.

Admittedly, I am not the best writer. I did well in English Studies because analysing was what I enjoyed, not to mention the fact that the thesaurus became my best friend. I understand that those who do write might read what I post here and laugh as they take note of every adverb, roll their eyes at misused apostrophes, and laugh at my faulty parallelism - and yes, I had to Google 'common mistakes in writing' to find out about parallelism, and no, I have no clue how to pronounce parallelism.

Driving back from school today we saw a litter of puppies on the side of the road and this little chappy and one of his brothers/sisters ran after us. They are too cute. It looks like this guy is the runt of the litter as he was about half the size of the rest of them. So adorable!! Don't worry, I have no intention of taking any of them in, it's hectic enough having rescued a kitten already.

Quite honestly I feel like it at the moment. The phrase let sleeping dogs lie doesn’t seem to compute I don’t think; and while I know it’s best to confront problems it’s driving me insane that an innocent phrase, mentioned when I was not guarding my words as carefully as I should have been, causes so many problems.

Art exposes the best and most fragile qualities of man in the very moment of war. The nexus to choose between humanity and visceral destruction beyond death, ruination. Leaders and individuals have the choice to save art, steal art or simply shatter art beyond identity.

The destroyers are known, The looters are, for the most part, known. The protectors, on the other hand, are often invisible, unrecognized heroes, fading from history.

Here’s the story of a man-cold, Inception and Tiddles.

I’ve never liked the phrase ‘whatever floats your boat’. Boats, by definition, are vessels that float on the water. It’s a self-referential argument. It is water that’s floating my boating but boats can only float on water so what floats my boat can only be water. It should be ‘whatever keeps your boat afloat’, meaning you need to do all you can to keep your boat afloat.

It's no secret that I'm really meticulous when it comes to my nails. You could go so far as to say I'm a little neurotic about them. Here's how my painting ritual usually goes...

Today's theme is the border manicure: I really wish I had some glequins lying around for this. I love the look of glequin border manis but sadly I don't have any glequins....so here's my contribution. 

Some things never change - like, for example, the simple satisfaction from a job well done. When there is a problem with something, and you are able to fix it and make it better again, or build something from scratch, that is some powerful sense of accomplishment right there. I can think of only one thing better than being a successful “DIY”er.
