Tornado in November?

I stared wide eyed at the park ranger on the beach talking to our neighbor. “Did you get all that?” he asked when he turned my way.
A tornado watch! We were aware that the hurricane season is over at the end of November, but a tornado season? Checking a Florida disaster website, I discovered that there are two tornado seasons in Florida. The summer season ends in September and the Deadly Spring Season (yes, folks, that’s what it’s called) starts in February. Where does that leave us in December?
It leaves us on a tiny scrap of land called Long Key, where one could sprint – if one was capable of…

Lets face it, the internet is cat crazy! Over this first year of my blog we have seen them dressed as Sushi, painted, boxed and generally treated rather badly for our own amusement. Sadly for or feline friends Christmas time is not that much different, because today we are taking a little peek into the crazy trend of cat wrapping…

Welcome to another Under the Radar Review from Poppycock Reviews. This time we’ll be reviewing the Chinese Historical Fantasy game Dynasty Warriors 8. It is among one of the most popular video game series in Japan, but here in the West it is often reduced to “mindless button masher” and a series that is “more of the same.” In comparison to “Call of Duty,” which the West tends to prefer, you can see some hypocrisy in those statements (mindless shooter, more of the same). The purpose of…

A nice review of FRUITVALE STATION with an interview of Ryan Coogler, the filmmaker.

I can remember, back in January of 2009, starting the New Year as many do with new goals set, new expectations for myself, and the feeling of a fresh start. Then several days later, I was one of many persons who viewed a terrible tragedy on a YouTube video. It was a haunting and poignant reminder of how precious life is and how sudden it can be taken. I’m of course referring to the death of 22-years-old Oscar Grant III, who was murdered on January 1st, 2009 by a BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit District) police officer at the now infamous Fruitvale subway stop in Oakland, CA. Oscar was removed from the train by BART officers, after he fought with rivals, and was shot in the back while lying face down on…

The following is a Versatile Blogger Award response masquerading as a fictitious news article. :P
Singapore – Donna the local mongrel who was previously turned in for investigation by the authorities for the first suspected unlicensed protest to be staged by a dog in this country has fled. It is rumoured that the dog police whispered in embarrassment the statement that Donna the local mongrel, made her escape when wardens let her out in the yard to read her pee-mail. The authorities do not have an answer as to why the local mongrel held in custody should have access to pee-mail or any kind of communications with the dog network. They have refused to comment for this news report.
